Nick Cleggs Gaffe – Iraq War Illegal

Well it had to come didn’t it, someone finally saying what many of the population have been saying in Britain, the Iraq War was illegal and now Nick Clegg stands at the dispatch box and says it all.

Shortly before that slip-up, Clegg threw the government’s position concerning the legality of the Iraq war into confusion when, at the end of heated exchanges with Jack Straw, foreign secretary at the time of the war, Clegg said: “We may have to wait for his memoirs, but perhaps one day he will account for his role in the most disastrous decision of all: the illegal invasion of Iraq.” Read more…

Back from the Vets and over the moon

Bo and I have just returned from the Vets and we have been given the all clear.  He was not too impressed when he was bundled into the car, perhaps he thought “oh no not again”.  But we got to the vets, he was as good as gold and then we had the news of the histology results.  The tumours removed from his anus were benign and the sample they sent from his testicles came back all clear. There is a discussion going on, on another forum discussing how productive and effective Twitter, Facebook and all social networking sites are, but unfortunately with that comes another side to the coin, which some fail to see. And that is the self destructiveness it can cause and how counter productive it really can be.

Take the case of Carter Ruck trying to silence a newspaper over the toxic waste dump in the Ivory Coast by Trafigura. Well without twitter and many other social networking sites and Carter Ruck only having to worry what the courts say, they could have easily silenced the papers. Read more…
